Overnight Crane Lift

Protech asked us to document a large-scale overnight crane lift at Silverburn Shopping Centre in Glasgow, capturing the installation of new equipment during a carefully planned operation that took place between 10pm and 2am.

Projects like this leave very little room for error. The lift could only go ahead if the weather conditions were right, with strong winds having the potential to delay the entire operation. Filming overnight in the middle of winter also brought its own challenges, from freezing temperatures to working within a tightly managed schedule.

Our approach was to capture the operation as it unfolded, documenting both the scale of the lift and the precision of the team carrying it out. From the preparation on the ground to the crane positioning equipment high above the rooftop, the film highlights the planning, coordination and expertise involved in delivering a complex engineering project safely.

It's the kind of work most people never get to see, and it was a great opportunity to capture the skill, teamwork and attention to detail behind a successful overnight installation.
